The University of Barcelona has started the assembly of the first version of the ChipScope microscope.
This first version of the microscope consists in an array of 8×8 micro-LEDs of 5µm designed by Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany, faced with the SPAD CMOS sensors designed by the University of Barcelona. In the middle of them, the sample under study will be placed thanks to an integrated microfluidic channel which has been designed by the Austrian Institute of Technology, AIT. Around this core, there is the electronics in charge of controlling the measurement of switching on and off the LEDs and reading the SPAD sensor as convenient.
